Miami Open - Key Biscayne
Highlighted by 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer and 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, the 2018 Miami Open will once again bring a Grand Slam quality player field to its farewell tournament at the Crandon Park Tennis Center on Key Biscayne.
In the final event on Key Biscayne prior to moving to a state-of-the-art facility at Hard Rock Stadium in 2019, the Miami Open's 2018 official acceptance lists include 78 of the top 79 ranked men and 75 of the top 76 ranked women.
The player field features a combined 17 Grand Slam singles champions including Federer, who claimed his 20th major title at this year's Australian Open, and Caroline Wozniacki who regained the World No. 1 ranking following her first Grand Slam title in Melbourne.
Serena Williams, who has won a record eight Miami Open singles titles, was granted a wildcard into the 2018 tournament. Following her Open Era record 23rd career Grand Slam title at the 2017 Australian Open, Williams missed the remainder of the season while preparing for the birth of her daughter.
Whether you are looking to see a future Hall of Famer, a multiple Grand Slam champion, or a rising star, all will be on display at the Crandon Park Tennis Center during the event's two weeks, March 19- April 1.
The 2018 ATP acceptance list features World No. 1 and 16-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, 12-time Grand Slam champion and six-time Miami Open winner Novak Djokovic, three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, and former US Open champions Juan Martin del Potro and Marin Cilic. Cilic is coming off a finals appearance at this year's Australian Open…. In addition, the player field boasts the next generation of ATP stars including Australian Open semifinalists Kyle Edmund and Hyeon Chung, along with World No. 5 Alexander Zverev and the always exciting Nick Kyrgios.
The women's field for 2018 is equally impressive featuring seven-time Grand Slam Champion Venus Williams, five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova, two-time Grand Slam winner and defending Wimbledon champion Garbiñe Muguruza, reigning French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko, 2017 US Open winner Sloane Stephens, Olympic Gold Medalist and Miami native Monica Puig, and two-time Grand Slam winner Angelique Kerber.
